Julie Sygiel
EntrepreneurFounder, Dear Kate
Julie Sygiel is the founder of Dear Kate, an intimate apparel company that makes fashion + function underwear for women. Conceptualized in an undergraduate entrepreneurship class at Brown University, Dear Kates are designed with a built-in breathable lining that keeps women prepared for anything. Julie spent 2 years developing the patent-pending fabric using her engineering background in collaboration with domestic fabric manufacturers. The line is now manufactured in New York City and sold in stores across the US & Canada. Julie also co-founded the The Lady Project, a group that strives to connect, inspire, and showcase amazing women doing awesome things. She has a special place in her heart for Girl Scout Cookies given that she sold 10,000 boxes while growing up. Julie graduated in 2009 from Brown University with a degree in chemical engineering and believes that all women should hold their underthings to a higher standard.
